Front Desk Officer / Receptionist

About the role

The Front Desk Officer welcomes everyone who comes to RAIN: prospective trainees and their families, visiting schools, partners, suppliers and guests of our research teams. You answer calls and walk-in enquiries, keep the visitors' register and make sure each person reaches the right office quickly and leaves with a good impression. You also provide general office assistance. Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria (RAIN) is a research and certification centre for artificial intelligence and robotics, at 20 Oba Adesida Road, Iyaganku GRA, Ibadan. We train people in 12-month programmes in AI and Machine Learning and in Robot Development and Automation, physical or virtual, and run the RIDE online labs, our textbooks and certification, proctored online exams for organisations and the RAIN Summit. Most of our work is building real products for real problems: drones, monitoring systems, robots and apps.

What you will do

• Welcome visitors, trainees and guests, sign them in and take them to the right person
• Answer phone calls and walk-in enquiries about our programmes, and log each enquiry on the portal
• Keep the visitors' register, the meeting room diary and the reception area tidy and presentable
• Receive and log deliveries, letters and parcels, and pass them on promptly
• Help the admissions team with prospective trainees and their families during visits
• Keep the notice boards, brochures and leaflets at reception up to date
• Report any security, safety or maintenance problem at the front of the building at once

What we are looking for

• An OND, NCE, HND or a degree in any field
• At least one year in a front desk, reception or customer service role
• Clear spoken and written English, and a calm, friendly manner
• Confident with a computer, e-mail and simple spreadsheets
• Well organised, punctual and neatly presented
• Graphics design skills is an added advantage
