What you study

AIML: artificial intelligence and machine learning

Python, data science, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, language models and deployment, with a working product every term. Curriculum

RDA: robot development and automation

Electronics, microcontrollers, mechanisms, control, robot arms, drones, ROS-style robotics and embedded AI, practised in the RIDE Lab and the 3D lab. Curriculum

On your own, with the books

Every RAIN book leads to a Professional Certificate you sit online, and comes with the RIDE Lab. The bookshop

The certificate, plainly

RAIN certificates and Professional Certificates are issued by RAIN, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria. They are not regulated UK qualifications and are not on the Regulated Qualifications Framework; their value is the work you can show and the exam you passed.

Every certificate can be checked on our public register.

More than a school

RAIN is a research and certification centre for artificial intelligence and robotics. Most of our work is building real products for real problems, and our learners learn by doing the same.

RIDE Lab

Interactive labs in the browser for electronics, robot arms, drones, SLAM, mechanisms, materials, fluid power and machine learning, which also work offline See it

Industrial Mobile Robotic Platform (IMoRP)

A prototype unmanned ground vehicle with a 250 kg payload and 15 hours of endurance, built from locally fabricated and end-of-life parts

Carbon emission tracking drone

A prototype drone that monitors carbon emissions and detects people across forested areas

Our research and engineering

Universities and research groups in the United Kingdom

RAIN's founder completed his PhD in robotics at the University of Manchester. We welcome UK partners for joint student projects, robotics for difficult environments, and research on teaching engineering online.

Questions from the United Kingdom

Do I need a visa?

Not to study online. If you choose physical classes in Ibadan, you will need a Nigerian visa; we send the admission letter you need for it.

Will classes clash with work?

They are set for people who work: Friday early evening, Saturday morning and Sunday evening, all in UK time.

Is this a UK degree?

No. It is RAIN training and certification. The degree pathway on our site is with a Nigerian university.

How is my data handled?

You choose which cookies we use: nothing for advertising or analytics runs until you accept. Read our privacy policy.

Can I see the labs before I pay?

Yes. The RIDE Lab page describes every lab, and you can ask us for a short guided look in the virtual school.
